Violets Appeared © Kristye Addison Dudley 4" x 6" Acrylic on Paper with Pallet Knife Purchase Prints I am working on a large commission and at the end of my session I decided to create a work with the colors on my pallet. It was a fun challenge and I decided to paint wildflowers and then I started painted in purple. So violets appeared in the painting too. It just might be my next challenge. Detail of Landscape Study © Kristye Addison Dudley Day 29 - Detail of landscape study This is a detail of a portrait I am working on for a commission. I used pallet knives and brushes to create the foliage. More work to do on some of the finer details, but I do like where it's going. One more day in this 30 day challenge! Day 25 - Yellow flower Nature Landscape Painting by Contemporary Figurative Fine Artist Kristye Addison Dudley

Yellow Sunflower © Kristye Addison Dudley 10" x 8" Acrylic on Paper  Purchase Original or Prints  Day 25 - Yellow Sunflower Study Today has been a busy day, birthday party at school for my 3 soon to be 4 year old and a charity auction tonight where I showed 3 small works. But I still found time to paint. It's a late one and I haven't felt my best today. But, today is a blessing and I am so glad that I was able squeeze in some time. Using a pallet knife I worked and reworked this canvas. I originally wanted to paint these bright red roses that are in our front yard. But I just didn't like where the work was going. So I chose this bright bloom instead. Day 5 - Wildflowers

Day 5 - Wildflowers (WIP) © Kristye Addison Dudley 6" x 4" Acrylic on Canvas Paper Day 5 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days Wildflowers (work in progress) for 99 Bottles of Art on the Wall. I am really enjoying working with landscapes. As a former athlete, I have always been drawn to the figure, but that is what this challenge is about. Stepping out of my comfort zone. Today was a very exciting day. Not only did I make it to day 5 of this challenge, but my family traveled to Tennessee to cheer on our niece as she competed in her final collegiate gymnastics meet. As a former gymnast, I remember the tears and sweat that goes into each meet. Seeing her perform with such power, grace and humility for her talent made me so proud. Her team finished first place in the NAIGC, and she placed 2nd all around out of 900 competitors from across the country and first place on vault. She is a reminder of how God gives us talents for his glory. There were so many people who admired h...
