Hello Everyone, I have been working diligently on a very large 7ft by 3ft commission and it's almost complete. Now I am gearing up for my next round of new paintings. During the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge in April, I really worked hard to paint every day on new artwork. During May, my family traveled and although I was busy painting the commission, I got out of my daily painting/posting routine. So I think it's time for a new challenge! For the rest of the month of June, 25 days, I will be painting very small work, 4" x 6" to 8" x 10", and selling each one for only $50! My goal is to sell them all! I know that's a huge goal, but I might as well try right? So if you don't have a Father's Day gift yet, this maybe just the personal gift you are looking for (message requests to me). It was a fun challenge and I decided to paint wildflowers and then I started painted in purple. So violets appeared in the painting too. It just might be my next challenge. It was a long ride with a 21 month old and a 4 year old, but it was a beautiful ride. The mountains were breathtaking. There is something so amazing about being so high on a mountain. This is a sketch of the blue ridge mountains in pen and watercolor. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. I always find watercolor a challenge, it's very easy to get washed out colors, but this one still has some vibrancy. Just 4 days left in the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge! But I still found time to paint. It's a late one and I haven't felt my best today. But, today is a blessing and I am so glad that I was able squeeze in some time. Using a pallet knife I worked and reworked this canvas. I originally wanted to paint these bright red roses that are in our front yard. But I just didn't like where the work was going. So I chose this bright bloom instead. In the Spring of 2001, I was auditioning for the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders (AFC).  I was excited, scared and completely clueless as to what being a professional cheerleader meant. I also had no idea of how it would change me and my life for the better. The support of my teammates encouraged me to pick up my paintbrush and paint again. As a former gymnast, collegiate cheerleader and professional cheerleader it's no surprise that dancers are a favorite subject matter of mine. I have always enjoyed painting the dynamic expression of the body. Figure painting is something that I am continually drawn to. Now that I am at the half way point of 30 paintings in 30 days challenge , I am going to focus on more figures. The new palette of colors that I am using is proving a bright change of perspective to the stylized figures.
